Gas Fireplaces

J C| Posted inGreen Products and Materialson

Hi all,

Looking for suggested brands/models on two types of gas fireplaces. We’re specifically looking for options with the least toxic materials. We’re hoping to not have fumes enter the home from the heating of the fireplace materials. Thank you!

(1) Direct vent gas fully enclosed/sealed fireplace
(2) Direct vent gas fully enclosed/sealed and see-through fireplace

We installed a sealed gas fireplace from Fireplace Xtroardinairehttp://www.fireplacex.com/, and liked their options and look. We're not done with construction yet, so I don't know how well it works yet, but it looks good and didn't take up much space. Different models can provide heating or just be for aesthetics, and remote controls are nice.

The least toxic option is too not install any systems that require combustion. If you must have a fireplace, you might consider an electric model.
