Dampproofing vs Vapor Barrier on Outside Face of Monolithic Slab On Grade
For a monolithic slab on grade (finished floor elevation 8″ higher than surrounding grade) with no real hydrostatic pressure concerns, can the vapor barrier (such as Stego Pango) be terminated on the outside face of the grade beam with a termination bar just below grade IN LIEU OF dampproofing? If not, should the dampproofing coat over the termination bar lower than grade? The GBA standard details tend to show the vapor barrier terminating much lower than grade and just barely wrapping back up the vertical face of the grade beam.
Thanks!
