Vetting a Solar Panel Installer

I am planning to install solar panels at my home and have received a quote from a solar panel installer. Unfortunately, nearly all the detail in the quote–type of equipment, the configuration, upgradeability, etc.–is completely beyond my expertise. (I am homeowner with no technical background in construction or electronics.)

How do I vet the quote? Are there services that can help with this?
