   Gene,
   According to the manufacturer's literature, Fiberlock IAQ 8000 is a "pigmented latex emulsion coating comprised of water, pigments, fillers, additives, and latex emulsion resin" — in other words, it's something like latex paint.

   The application instructions advise, "Circulate fresh air through the HVAC system to help dry the coating. Exhaust air outside the building." The instructions also note, "Do not apply when air or surface temperature is below 50°F or when drying conditions are poor. Use adequate ventilation."

   I assume these directions were followed. How long has it been since the product was applied? Does it still smell?

   Gene,
   I just receive a call back from Fiberlock. One of their reps, Angus, told me, "It's just a question of time. Once it dries, there is no smell. While the product dries to the touch in about an hour, full curing might take up to 7 or 10 days. Usually the smell dissipates in just a few days, but curing time is a function of temperature and humidity, so each situation is different."

   they say their product contains one ten thousands of 1% of formaldehide - worriesome after smell disappears?
