Toronto Hosts Energy Conference in April

A scientist who was on the Nobel-Prize-winning U.N. climate change panel will deliver the keynote address

Two hundred exhibitors and as many as 2,500 renewable energy professionals are expected at the All-Energy Canada Exhibition & Conference in Toronto on April 9 and 10, organizers said.

TheToronto conferenceis one of three All-Energy conferences this year. Others are scheduled in Australia and Scotland.

Exhibitors will represent a number of industries, including solar energy, renewable energy, energy efficiency, bio-energy, onshore wind and low-carbon transportation. The conference takes place at Exhibition Place. There is no charge to attend the trade show.

Simultaneously, a conference running both days will include sessions on such topics as developing labor skills for the renewable energy economy, sustainable energy financing, the smart grid, and wind and tidal renewable energy.

Dr. Woodrow Clark, a contributing scientist to the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, will be the keynote speaker on April 9. Clark’s panel was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in December 2007 along with Al Gore and his filmAn Inconvenient Truth. He is the former manager of Technology Commercialization at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and the author of eight books on the economics and politics of sustainable communities.
