Minisplit indoor unit placement
We live in zone 7 in Northern Minnesota in a modified A-frame home. However, we have a few weeks every year that make having A/C a real necessity therefore this post.
The main room contains the kitchen, dining room, and living room. The front wall of the house faces a lake with several large windows going almost to the top. The ceiling height is 22′ and there is a large ceiling fan suspended in the center of this space.
I realize it is difficult to I vision all this but we were thinking about mounting the indoor unit high on this front wall between the windows. Our personal thought was about 16′ from the floor about even with the blades from the ceiling fan. Our question: is this a good plan or is there a better (more effective) location height-wise on this wall. Any and all responses are welcomed as I am planning on only doing this just once.

I would mount it on the back or side wall not in the middle of a window. Provided the house is reasonably air sealed, mounting it up high works well for cooling, even without the ceiling fan mixing the air.
Also keep in mind that you will need to service the unit (clean filter, clean blower wheel), so installing it at 16' might not be the best.
