Subfloor joints sealed
I am trying to figure out if I should put a tape over a joint on a subfloor which is 1 1/8 inch tongue and groove OSB.
below the subfloor is batted insulation.
of the total first floor there is only a small area with this particular situation because we could not get enough crawlspace to do the spraying foam insulation.

Rick, what is below the joists? Somewhere in your assembly you want an air control layer. T+G OSB should be airtight but adding tape will ensure that it is.
I have insulation batts. These are below the OSB subfloor. I built a box in the floor Joyce and put hardI board underneath. Basically I have a coffin under the subfloor in certain areas to put the insulation. The balance of the floor will have spray foam insulation. The crawlspace was not enough for the guys to get under to do the spray foam. That is why I have the added batts of insulation in places.
