Monoslope ridge vent

user-7232928| Posted inGeneral Questionson

Hi,

I am looking for some advice on how to vent the upper edge of a shed roof with (unfortunately) very little overhang (about 6″). I am getting bungled up in thinking about how to wrap water proofing membrane around the eave and down a foot or two, and finding a way to allow airflow out the upper end of the roof.
The roofing is asphalt shingles.

    user...928,

    - You don't need wrap your roofing underlayment past the fascia at the peak. Just turn it down an inch or so. It will be covered by the peak flashing.
    - Treat the soffit just as you would a wider one. Install a standard strip-vent and cover the rest with a piece of trim.
