What is “thin structural sheathing”?

I saw this on the CAD details at DOE website. Their CAD details are horrible, to say the least.

    User-6906688,
Thin structural sheathing is plywood or OSB that is thinner than thick structural sheathing.

Needless to say, I agree with you -- architects who have an opinion on sheathing thickness should specify the intended thickness in inches or millimeters.

It could be Structural Thermo-Ply too. They have 3 different thicknesses. I would never use it, but its common use in Multifamily, Production.and cheap builders.
All builders should read this attached APA document before they use this product (not the only problem pointed here, but a contributor). This study is from high wind results in Rockwall, TX a few months a go.
Sorry, the file would not load since is too large, but look for the APA Form No. SP-1182 and SP-1172. Free downloads if your register with them
