Ceiling air barrier for metal ceiling panel
I’m building a heated garage and am considering using a metal ceiling panel in place of drywall. I’m in zone 6 and will have R49 blown in cellulose in attic using raised heel trusses. The drywall was going to be my air barrier. Since I won’t need the drywall, what would you recommend for an air barrier.

6 mil poly taped and sealed.
Charles,
In general, you'll get the best results if you first install a drywall ceiling and tape the seams, and then install your metal panels. Fastener penetrations through drywall don't leak a significant amount of air -- but fastener penetrations through 6 mil polyethylene can leak a lot of air.
In short, you need a good air barrier. Don't skip the drywall.
