Exterior EPS foam fasteners?

Erik Lobeck| Posted inGreen Products and Materialson

Does anyone have a recommendation for fasteners for exterior foam application? I am applying 6-7″ of exterior EPS foam in two layers (2×3″, overlapping joints). Ideally I am looking for pneumatic nails with washers so that the fastener does not penetrate the foam.

Thanks.

    Erik,
Most people use cap nails, which are available in lengths up to 8 inches long:

If you are planning to install furring strips with screws on top of the exterior foam, you only need enough cap nails to hold the foam on temporarily, until the furring strips are installed.

Than you Martin, I know what to look for now, and yes, I am installing furring strips so they are functioning as temporary support for the foam.

    Eric,

Here is a possibility for installing the furring strips:https://youtu.be/VB9hY9vlUS4The 240mm length works great for 6" of EPS. No pre-drilling and the head set's flush w/o excess pressure on the EPS. I'm looking for someone to test and review them next to others fasteners. I'd discount them in exchange for an unbiased opionion.

I looked at them, how do I contact you?
