Any tips for putting up vertical metal siding over exterior insulation?

Hi Don.

How thick is the foam? Are you planning on fastening through it or installing horizontal furring?

2" foam, then horizontal furring strips, then the metal siding. I didn't see any articles about using metal siding on this site. We plan to do this work this summer.

Don,

Once the furring strips are attached, the installation of the metal siding is the same as any other house. The only difference is you should include a perforated base flashing the covers both the furring and bottom of the panels.
