Garage door seal

drpepper| Posted inGreen Products and Materialson

We are building a net zero home and trying to find a garage door seal that is tight. Right now the garage door companies we are talking with only use the standard side gripper so concerned a lot of cold air will get in garage. Any recommendations for products that I could recommend to the company we choose.. and/or a garage door company that is known for tight garage doors?
Thanks!

You may want to check Garaga weather seal. Their dual lips weather seal makes for a tight seal.

    Karen,
I would think an overhead garage door should not be critical for house tightness; the important issue is that the house/garage wall is tight, sealed and well insulated, and if there is a conditioned room above the garage it should be tight, sealed and insulated as well; and the same goes for the garage entry door to the house. I don’t know of anyone that does a door blower test including the garage. Furthermore, all houses with attached garages should have a fan wired to the garage opener, and with a timer, to remove pollution and humidity.
