Metal building insulation

sbdude| Posted inEnergy Efficiency and Durabilityon

Live in SW Missouri, climate zone 4a and looking a building a shop for my woodworking. 30x30x10, conventional stud construction on a radiant heat slab with metal skin (walls & roof). For insulation, I’ve been trying to do a lot of research but there is a LOT of conflicting info out there. In this research, this appeared to be a site with a lot of knowledgeable, helpful people. So thanks in advance for the help.
I’m looking at a thinner foam board underneath the metal on walls and roof, 1″ closed cell spray on inside of that to seal and reduce condensation then fill wall cavities with fiberglass insulation. Not sure on the roof to increase the spray foam thickness or find a way to insulate with fiberglass, etc interior to the spray foam. The reason for the foam board is so I’m not spraying directly onto the metal in case I need to remove/change, etc. Since the spray foam will be my vapor barrier, I’m guessing it doesn’t matter whether interior of that is faced or unfaced?

Thanks!!

Would this be a good plan or is there an easier/better way?
