Mold on Tongue-and-Groove Ceiling

I live in a log house build in 2011. I am starting to see a black stain on my cathedral ceiling and I am concerned that it is mold. It would be very difficult to swab the area to test. Is it possible to have mold growing inside a log house? I have had the outside stained 2 times since living in the home.
Thanks for any info.

Hi Herbie,
Yes, mold growth on your tongue-and-groove ceiling is possible, andthis Q&A threadgets at the reason why: condensation. The fix will be to determine what it is about your roof assembly that is allowing moisture to accumulate.
