Attic insulation

In regards to air sealing and insulating an attic I was wondering if placing 2 inch foam boards between the attic joists and caulking or spray foaming around them to create an air seal and putting blown in insulation or fiberglass on top of that makes sense. I understand that this may be on the expensive side due to the cost of the foam boards but having a warm house in winter may be worth it for me. If anyone can share some info on this I would appreciate your input

    Hi Moe,

    I think you can do most of the air sealing work you need to do with some caulk, canned spray foam, and a few other details, and save some time and money. I suggest you read and watch these:
